It is a series which lasted several weeks but whose epilogue is delightful for AS Saint-Étienne. The Saint-Etienne club, which has been working for several months now to have Paul Eymard sign a first professional contract, has succeeded as it announced on its official channels this Monday evening and as we announced to you on December 23. The young 18-year-old midfielder has signed up until 2028 with his training club.
Having arrived at the age of 14 with the Greens, Paul Eymard passed all the stages of the Saint-Etienne training, even playing his first match with the reserve in National 3 at the age of 16. Among the most promising of the ASSE training center, he also has several selections with the French youth teams, even being a finalist for the Euro U17 in 2025.
Quickly integrated with the professionals, he has already made four appearances with the flagship team this season and had his first start in Ligue 2 this weekend against Le Mans (0-0). Born on January 5, 2008, Paul Eymard gave himself a nice gift on his 18th birthday! The Saint-Etienne midfielder, started this Saturday against Le Mans (0-0), signs his first professional contract with ASSE. Arriving at the club in 2022, the young player first learned his lessons in Auvergne at Velay FC then under the colors of a partner club, Le Puy Foot 43, for two seasons.
Arriving in Forez at the age of 14, Paul Eymard began his Saint-Etienne adventure in U15. Quickly upgraded on the pitches of national championships, U17 and U19, the midfielder wasted no time in experiencing his first in National 3: at the age of 16, against Chambéry in December 2024.
Endowed with strong qualities, Paul Eymard also quickly caught the eye of the French Football Federation. Summoned to the tricolor jersey at the age of 15, he now has 26 selections and was notably a finalist in the Euro U17 in 2025 a few months after winning the prestigious Montaigu Tournament in 2024.
After four professional appearances (2 goals), Paul Eymard reaches a new milestone in his career by signing his first professional contract! The young midfielder is now linked to ASSE until 2028.
