He Arxil Basketball Clubis a women’s basketball club based in the city of Pontevedra, Galicia. Currently, she plays in the Women’s League 2, the third category of Spanish women’s basketball.
CB Arxil was founded in 1984, uniting players from several women’s teams in the city.[1]Among them, Maite Méndez stands out, first as a player and then as a coach for 24 years.[2]
In the 2001-02 season, it participated in the newly created Women’s League 2, remaining in the category for twenty-three consecutive seasons, in which it competed in five final promotion phases, three of them to the Women’s League and two to the Women’s Challenge League. In the last one, in the 2023-24 season, he played the decisive match for promotion in one of the semifinals against Domusa Teknik ISB. He did not succeed, finishing fourth in the overall classification, which would allow him to later access a vacant place due to the resignation of CP Bembibre and promote to the Women’s Challenge League, the second level of women’s basketball, for the first time in its history.[3]
She made her debut in the 2024-25 season in the Women’s Challenge League, in which she was only able to play one campaign, relegating again to the Women’s League 2 in which she currently competes.
