The Compagnie d’Arc de Coudekerque-Branche has just hosted and organized its very first Northern Barebow Departmental Championship, in 18 meter shooting. Created in 1988, the club only operates with volunteers. More than forty graduates, aged 9 to 85, train every week at the François-Faber gym.

Forty-three licensees practice archery over distances ranging from 18 to 70 meters. You have to aim for targets measuring 40 by 40 centimeters and, of course, hit the yellow, which measures only 4 centimeters in diameter.

Taylor Devincke, president of Compagnie d’Arc de Coudekerque Branche:

Archery is an individual sport that can be practiced from the age of 6. It allows you to stay in shape, both for the mind and for the back muscles. Taylor Devincke, president of the Compagnie d’Arc de Coudekerque-Branche:

Mickaël has been practicing archery for a year and a half, after discovering it on the internet.

Charlene is 11 years old. She already feels sensations in her fingers and head when touching the target.

Please note, archery is considered a weapon. To join the club, strict rules and behaviors must be respected.
