ANNONE BRIANZA – Hanno is preparing to renew one of the most deep-rooted rites of Brianza culture: the Giubiana firein program Thursday 29 January departing at 18:45 from the Town Hall. A tradition that, year after year, continues to attract families, young and old, combining folklore, community and symbolism.

The procession, accompanied by the sound of bells, pots and tambourines brought by the citizens, will reach the Campopiano localitywhere the large bonfire will be lit. At the center of the pyre, as usual, the puppet of Giubiana: a female figure who represents the fears, hardships and “bad things” of the past year. Its burning is a collective gesture of liberation and hope, a way to say goodbye to winter and look with confidence to the season to come.

The evening will be accompanied by the distribution of panettone, polenta, mulled wine and hot teaoffered thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality and local associations.
