Anderlecht vs Antwerp: Croky Cup Semi-Final Preview

FRIDAY, JANUARY 16, 2026, 06:50 – emjomi

COMPETITIONS RSC Anderlecht faces a recognizable challenge in the semi-finals of the Croky Cup. Just like last season, the Purple & White will once again cross swords with Antwerp in the battle for a place in the final at Heysel.

Anderlecht secured a place in the last four thanks to a narrow cup victory against AA Gent. A penalty was enough for Besnik Hasi’s team, who escaped at the end when a Ghent equalizer was disallowed after VAR intervention. With this, the Purple & White took another step towards the cup final, a goal that was also achieved last year after a diptych against Antwerp.

The opponent in the semi-finals is again the Great Old. Antwerp needed extra time to eliminate PhD candidate La Louvière, but ultimately managed to qualify. Last season, Anderlecht managed to beat Antwerp in the semi-finals, and the Purple & White hopes to repeat that trick.

The first and second legs of the semi-finals will be played in February. The first confrontations are scheduled between Tuesday 3 and Thursday 5 February, with the second matches between Tuesday 10 and Thursday 12 February. RSC Anderlecht first plays at home and then away.

The stakes are once again high: a ticket for the final of the Croky Cup, which will be played on Thursday, May 14 in the King Baudouin Stadium.
