Anco Jansen on FC Twente Player’s Shocking Act

FC Twente reached the last eight of the cup tournament on Tuesday evening by winning 1-2 at FC Utrecht. Anco Jansen thought FC Utrecht did not perform well in the Galgenwaard Stadium.

“I was also really shocked by the center with Mike van der Hoorn and Nick Viergever,” says Jansen Football talk op ESPN. “Ricky van Wolfswinkel came in great, but he is released twice with a running action through the center. Then you also look at the sprint speed. Van Wolfswinkel is no longer the fastest, even at a considerable age. But that was bizarre. It really didn’t look good with those two central players.”

Sam Lammers started at the point of attack at FC Twente and did not make much of an impression. “A bit like the previous match against FC Utrecht,” says Tijmen van Wissing. “He seemed afraid of Van der Hoorn at the time. Sam Lammers is a great striker, if you see him do things sometimes. He also had some very nice actions last weekend, but you always miss the conviction with him. He still got a chance, although it was offside, but the way he shot it wide… It reflects so little. That is also the case with Sondre Ørjasæter. They are great players, but there is so little return.”

Jansen is still pleased with the Norwegian winger from FC Twente. “Ørjasæter had a fantastic assist on Van Wolfswinkel’s goal. That is a player who is so creative from his own half, also with his actions. And that simply results in a goal. If that boy also scores, then it is real…”, concludes Jansen.
