Algeria – Nigeria in quarters!
After this suspenseful victory, head for the quarter-finals of the CAN for the Fennecs. It will be against Nigeria, who easily disposed of Mozambique (4-0) on Monday evening. Little anecdote to know (or not): the Super Eagles and the Fennecs are the only two teams to have gone flawless in the group stage (9 points).

The reaction of Aïssa Mandi at the microphone of BeIN Sports
“It’s true that it’s incredible! The scenario makes it a victory with a lot of emotion, extraordinary. We already said it among ourselves and at the start of the competition, only as a group can we have a great competition. And there we see someone who comes in for five minutes (Adil Boulbina, sole scorer) with a big desire to make a difference. And it’s a group that is rewarded. Congratulations to the whole team because the state of mind is impeccable”reacted the Algerian defender from Lille.
“Congratulations also to Congo, to have a good match, you necessarily need two teams. They also had a great match, but unfortunately for them, today it went our way”he added.

THE ALGERIE IN FOURTH OF END OF THE CAN!
It’s finished! What an end to overtime! Algeria snatched victory against the DRC in the 119th minute thanks to a curling shot into the top corner from Adil Boulbina, who had entered a few minutes earlier. The Fennecs escape the penalty shootout and join Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the CAN.

115′. Congolese offside
It’s complicated for the Leopards at the end of overtime.
19:27
114′. Double change for Algeria
No more change possible in these last minutes! Adil Boulbina replaces Farès Chaïbi. Ramiz Zerrrouki takes the place of Hicham Boudaoui.
19:25
111′. Algeria stumbles again on Mpasi
The Le Havre goalkeeper quickly lies down in front of Farès Chaïbi’s strike! Before a new parade of the right hand at the near post on the Baghdad Bounedjah square! For the moment, Lionel Mpasi disgusts the Fennecs in this extension.
19:23
110′. Moutoussamy can’t take it anymore
He will give way to Charles Pickel for the last ten minutes.
19:20

106′. Here we go again!
The last fifteen minutes of this extra time before a possible penalty shootout. Algeria or the DRC will finally have to find the loophole to escape it.

Half time of overtime

The Algerians kick off the first period of overtime. Twice fifteen minutes to score and avoid penalties!
18:53
No winner, time for overtime!
Lionel Mpasi comes out well on Amoura’s center and the referee whistles for the end of regulation time. Everything will therefore be decided in overtime, unless we go to penalties! Algeria and the DRC neutralized each other throughout the match without managing to score a single goal (0-0) despite several opportunities. As we recall, the two nations have only conceded one goal in their first three group matches. We can therefore say that this score is, unfortunately for the show, not surprising.
18:50
90’+1. The DRC very close to opening the score!
How well defended! Having just entered the game, Fiston Mayele was a few centimeters away from crucifying Algeria in three minutes of added time.

This time, Axel Tuanzebe misses his pass and sees the ball slip into touch. The Algerians will be able to recover the ball and continue to push.
18:24
65′. Tuanzebe serein
Axel Tuanzebe follows this long deep pass well, before once again winning his duel in front of Amoura in his area. We feel that at any moment, the counter can be unblocked.
