The Mexican Baseball Team will have high-level reinforcement for the next World Baseball Classic, since the Major League catcher Alejandro Kirk was confirmed to represent Mexico in the international tournament.
The catcher, originally from Tijuana, will wear the tricolor in one of the most important baseball competitions in the world. Kirk, who currently plays with the Toronto Blue Jays in Major League Baseball (MLB), has established himself as one of the most solid catchers on the circuit, standing out for both his offensive discipline and his handling of pitching.
His experience in the Major Leagues will be key for the Mexican teamespecially in a strategic position within the field.
Alejandro Kirk’s participation with Mexico marks an important moment in his career, officially representing the country on the highest stage of international baseball. His incorporation significantly strengthens the national roster, which seeks to compete at the highest level against traditional powers such as the United States, Japan, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
Although during the regular season Kirk defends the Toronto colors, in the World Classic his commitment will be to the Mexican National Teamrepresenting the country in search of transcending and fighting for the first places in the tournament.

The World Baseball Classic is the most important international tournament in this sport at the national team level. It is organized by Major League Baseball (MLB) and the World Baseball and Softball Confederation (WBSC), and brings together the best players in the world, including active Major League players. This event is held every four years and has the participation of the main baseball powers, such as the United States, Japan, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Cuba and Mexico.
