Albigeois Classic Badminton: 2024 Success & Results

the essential
The tenth edition of the Albigeois Classic took place on December 20 and 21, 2025 in Albi and Puygouzon, once again confirming the status of this tournament as a major badminton event in Occitania.

Organized by the UBAA, the event was held over two days and in two gymnasiums, in Puygouzon and at the Champollion gymnasium. Official tournament of the French Badminton Federation (FFBaD), the Albigeois Classic X was open to a wide range of categories, ranging from unranked players up to the national level.

This anniversary edition brought together more than 360 players, including some of the best competitors from the Occitanie region, but also participants from other French regions, notably Brittany and Haute-Savoie, helping to further raise the level of the competition.

Contested on all tables – singles, doubles and mixed – the tournament gave rise to more than 550 matches throughout the weekend. Several national level players were present, including a player ranked around 250th place in France, illustrating the sporting standing of this edition. Also note the strong involvement of the organizing club, with 70 UBAA players involved in the competition.

Beyond sporting performances, the event also focused on conviviality. A pizza evening, organized on Saturday evening in partnership with sponsor Burning Wood, brought together around fifty players after the day of competition. The presence of masseurs and professional photographers throughout the weekend was also particularly appreciated by the participants.

Finally, this success would not have been possible without the essential commitment of UBAA volunteers, mobilized throughout the weekend.
Sporty and friendly, this tenth edition stands out as a success, confirming the place of this tournament among the highlights of regional badminton in Occitanie.
