Ajax is still willing to sell Owen Wijndal, according to a transfer update from Football International. Although the 26-year-old left back has played a lot this season, the Amsterdam team would prefer to release him.

Last week it wrote Algemeen Dagblad already about a group of players who can leave Ajax. Journalist Johan Inan mentioned the names of Anton Gaaei, Branco van den Boomen, Kian Fitz-Jim and Oliver Edvardsen.

Remarkably, Lentin Goodijk from VI also added Wijndal’s name to it. Ajax hopes to reduce the selection this month mainly by transferring players with little perspective elsewhere.

Depending on what comes in, Ajax is prepared to cooperate in the departure of these players. The fact that Wijndal is allowed to leave probably mainly has to do with his high salary in Amsterdam.

John Heitinga and Fred Grim regularly called on the wing defender again this season. Wijndal has already played 1,244 minutes, spread over eighteen appearances. He was good for two goals and an assist.

Wijndal is still in the Johan Cruijff ArenA until mid-2027. According to Transfer market the eleven-time international is worth 4 million euros.

Since his arrival in 2022, Wijndal has played 63 times on behalf of Ajax. In between he was loaned to Royal Antwerp.
