Ajax has presented Sean Steur with a new contract. The top talent can upgrade and extend his contract, which expires in 2028, by two years. It reports that Algemeen Dagblad Friday evening.
Extending with Steur has been an important issue at Ajax for some time. The club has now really put work into it and decided to approach the seventeen-year-old midfielder with a proposal. The Amsterdammers want to extend Steur’s contract, which ends in 2028, for two years. So until 2030.
Moreover, if Steur were to say ‘yes’ to that proposal, he could count on a significant upgrade. Whether the talent will accept Ajax’s proposal remains to be seen. He rejected an earlier approach from the club. That’s because Ajax blocked a rental to FC Volendam last summer, at the very last minute. Moreover, it did not keep a promise about playing time in the main squad.
The news about the contract proposal will be followed with above-average interest by foreign (top) clubs. It is known that Eintracht Frankfurt is particularly fond of Steur. The Bundesliga club would like to bring him to Germany next summer.
Steur himself, who plays with Ajax against Telstar on Sunday, remains calm despite all the vicissitudes. “I’m not concerned with that at all,” he says AD.
