Host Morocco stormed into the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-0 (1-0) win against Cameroon. Brahim Diáz was not uninvolved – he was also successful in the fifth game of the tournament. The winner of the game between Nigeria and Algeria awaits the Moroccans in the semi-finals.
Morocco, which last reached the semi-finals in 2004 and won the title in 1976, could once again rely on Diáz. Diáz, 26, is under contract with Real Madrid, where he is known as someone who can dribble and has an overview. As a goalscorer, however, he appeared sporadically for the “Royal”.

At the Africa Cup, however, he showed that he was very good at scoring goals. He scored the opening goal against Cameroon in the 26th minute when he hit his thigh from a corner. It was Diáz’s fifth goal of the tournament – he scored in every game.
