Facts: Aaron Stoch Rydell
19-year-old Aaron Stoch Rydell, born on Saturday 14 October 2006 at Södersjukhuset in Stockholm, has received his football upbringing in some of the capital’s clubs. As a six-year-old, he started playing in AIK and four years later left Gnaget for Karlbergs BK. After that, it became IF Brommapojkarna when, as a 14-year-old, he took the step over to their academy. Due to the then-current covid-19 pandemic, the first eight rounds of the P16’s series games were cancelled, but after an extended period without football, it was decided that the academy series would be started again, and on June 6, 2021, Aaron finally got to make his debut for the club. IK Brage was the opposition at Grimsta IP in Vällingby and it wouldn’t take more than five minutes before Aaron, with number 11 on his back, scored the lead goal. BP showed its class and in the end won the home meeting with a whopping 8-0. Aaron would then be in the starting eleven for the remaining eight league matches where he managed the feat of scoring seven goals in his appearances.
Before the 2022 season, Aaron took the step up to the IF Brommapojkarnas P17 team where he played with the number 7 on his back. His first match for BP P17 came on 24 April of the same year when the team traveled to Strömvallen in Järfälla to face Bele Barkarby FF (3–0) in front of 69 spectators. On June 22, 2022, there was an away match at Lidingövallen in the 13th round of P17 Allsvenskan Norra. IFK Lidingö FK was the opposition in front of 77 spectators and here Aaron’s first goal for the P17 team would come when he scored the lead in the 34th minute of the match, BP eventually won the match 2-0. There were a total of nine matches and six goals for the young striker during the 2022 season, where IF Brommapojkarna placed fifth in P17 Allsvenskan Norra. In addition to representing the P17 team, during the year Aaron also played just over ten matches for IF Brommapojkarna’s P16 and P19 teams.
In January 2023, it was revealed that Aaron made the move to Farum outside the Danish capital Copenhagen to join FC Nordsjælland and their academy, where in the first year he represented the club’s P19 team. His debut at the new club came on 4 March 2023 when FC Nordsjælland took on AC Horsens away from home. Aaron had to change the game plan in the 77th minute of the match when he was substituted instead of Mickael Dosso. The away team, which was at a 2-3 disadvantage, had a tough situation when they had their goalkeeper William Lykke sent off already in the 38th minute of the match – the final score of the match was written at 4-2 after the home team decided in the last minute of the match. There were a total of 25 games and two goals for Aaron in FC Nordsjælland’s P19 team.
On March 27, 2024, AIK Fotboll announced that it had agreed with the Danish club FC Nordsjælland and the then 17-year-old striker Aaron Stoch Rydell on a transfer. The debut in the AIK jersey came on May 15 of the same year when he was substituted in the 80th minute of the match in the away loss against IF Elfborg (6–1). After that, Aaron also got a short start in the derby loss against Hammarby IF in the round after (2–1), and then got sparing playing time in the rounds after that. On September 20, 2024, AIK Fotboll announced that they had agreed with Karlbergs BK on a loan of the young striker for the remainder of the 2024 season. Aaron had difficulty taking a place in the starting eleven in a Karlberg that had a good season in Ettan Norra, and there was a total of playing time in two games before the season was finished.
Aaron was part of the AIK squad that traveled to both Spain’s Marbella and Benidorm during the start of 2025 to conduct this year’s double pre-season camps. On March 5, 2025, shortly before the start of the Allsvenskan, AIK Football announced that they had agreed with Gefle IF on a loan of Aaron during the 2025 season. The young striker had difficulty getting a starting place in GIF and after six games in Ettan Norra, he was called home to AIK during the summer, where he instead got playing time in the club’s P19 team.
On August 29, it was clear that Aaron was once again loaned to Karlbergs BK, this time for the remainder of 2025. After a difficult start, Aaron would gain more and more confidence the further into the autumn we got. There were a total of eight appearances in Ettan Norra with a score of three goal-scoring passes.
