5-a-Side Football Tournament: Joy & Solidarity Win!

On the pitch, ASD Real Montesilvano won, but the quadrangular which saw the Italian National Sisters as the great protagonist was won by everyone: by those who played, by those who assisted and by those, namely the Bologna Sisters, who sang, giving an afternoon in perfect “Sister act” style with the aim of transmitting joy and solidarity.

Yes, because now, as announced, the proceeds from the event will be used to purchase a motorized gynecological chair for the local health authority and the pilot project aimed at women which will be launched with a new clinic in the northern district. A first time in Abruzzo, with Pescara as protagonists, that of the National Sisters and the Sisters of Bologna which it is now hoped can be repeated. Commenting on the day which saw the ASD Cantera Adraitica Pescara and the ASD Pro Tirino participate in the tournament with them and the winning team, is the FdI municipal councilor Giuseppina D’Angelo.

“An exceptional result. We experienced, together with the public, the best of the values of sport, solidarity and inclusion and the objective we had set for ourselves was brilliantly achieved thanks to the warm and affectionate public, because soon we will be able to purchase a special chair, to be made available to an ASL clinic in the northern Pescara district, to guarantee gynecological visits to women with disabilities or with mobility difficulties”, he comments and explains. “The footballing spirit was definitely felt – he underlines -, but we also breathed joy, happiness and tenderness because all the protagonists of the tournament were moved by the desire to win the solidarity match and that is exactly what happened”.

“The National Sisters team, with the coach Moreno Buccianti – adds D’Angelo -, has demonstrated a great ability to transmit the faith while still fully experiencing sporting matches with a great footballing spirit. And the teams that the National team faced on the pitch, made up of very young people, did not hold back at all, so much so that for us promoters they really all won, ex aequo, even if it was the ASD Real Montesilvano that won the tournament. As the municipal administration we wanted to support this beautiful challenge, embracing a project that was presented to us and that we considered worthy of attention, and we thank all those who decided to be there, starting from the nuns of the Sacred Heart Institute, who reached the stands and cheered from the first to the last minute”, concludes D’Angelo.
