More than 600 players set fire to the greenery in northern Jiangxi
Jiujiang News Network (Jiujiang Daily all-media reporter Zhang Xinhong)On January 27, reporters learned from the 2026 “Qiu Zhen·Xiao Xun Bao” Jiujiang Football Super League press conference that the 2026 Jiujiang Football Super League (hereinafter referred to as “Xun Super League”) has successfully completed the preparatory work and will officially kick off at the Ruichang Sports Center on the afternoon of January 31.
According to Huang Ruilu, vice chairman of the Jiujiang Football Association, as the top amateur football event hosted by the Jiujiang Football Association, this year’s “Xun Super League” has achieved double breakthroughs in scale and coverage, bringing together 15 county (city, district) representative teams in the city with more than 600 participants. It is the event with the widest coverage, the largest number of participants, and the most complete participating teams so far. The event is divided into two competition areas: East and West. The East Area covers 8 teams in Duchang County, Hukou County, Pengze County, Chaisang District, Xunyang District, Lianxi District, Jiujiang Economic Development Zone, and Balihu New District. The West Area includes 7 teams in Xiushui County, Wuning County, Ruichang City, Yongxiu County, De’an County, Gongqingcheng City, and Lushan City. The competition adopts a home-and-away round-robin system. The regular season will be held in each participating county (city, district) in turn. The third and fourth place competition locations are determined through the selection of stadiums that meet the requirements. The championship and runner-up finals will be held at the Jiujiang Sports Center. The entire competition is open to the public free of charge.
This year’s “Xun Super League” takes “Greenery as a medium, igniting Xun City” as the event slogan. Zhang Yujie, a former member of the National Youth Team from Jiujiang and an active player of the Chinese Super League Shenzhen Xinpengcheng Club, is specially invited to serve as the image ambassador to inject professional vitality and local feelings into the event. The event will be promoted in two stages. The first stage (January to March 2026) is a home and away round-robin tournament in the division. Each team will fight hard to qualify for promotion; the second stage (October to November 2026) will consist of the top four teams in the East and West divisions. They will start a home and away cross-elimination tournament with eight qualifying rounds and semi-finals. The annual championship will be determined through layer-by-layer competition.
It is reported that the current “Xun Super League” schedule is tightly arranged and seamlessly connected with the provincial “Gan Super League” league to build a complete football competition system. The event will not only effectively promote the popularity and development of football in Jiujiang and expand the local football population, but will also cultivate outstanding reserve forces for the selection of the Jiujiang team in the 2026 “Gan Super League”, helping Jiujiang football occupy a more important position in the province.
