2026 Federal Squad: DBV Announces Team Selection

The German Badminton Association (DBV) has announced the composition of its federal squad for 2026. In addition to several new additions to the junior squad 2 (NK2), promotions to the junior squad 1 (NK1) and changes to the squad size have also been announced.

The German Badminton Association has finally named its national squad for 2026. The following were newly added to the men’s youth squad 2: Harshadmumar Karthick (TG Unterliederbach), Yutong He (ESV Munich), Till Besser (OTG 1902 Gera) and Hannes Kliemann (SV GutsMuths Jena).

For the women, several athletes are joining the NK2 for the first time. Newly appointed were Aarya Dahiya (TV Augsburg 1847), Isabella Deng (TURA Niederhochstadt), Eva Dimitrov (SG Rheinhessen), Lena Gütl (VfL Herrenberg) and Nina Zhang (SG Gridsee).

Some talents also took the next development step with promotion to the youth squad 1. Aurelia Wulandoko (TSV Freystadt) moved up from NK2 to NK1, as did Milan Zeisig (SV Berliner breweries). Leon Kaschura (SC Union 08 Lüdinghausen) has also been promoted to the NK1 since August 1st, 2025.

As a result of the restructuring, several athletes are no longer part of the national squad. For the women, these are Gloria Poluektov (VfB GW Mülheim), Smilla Fluhrer (SG Schorndorf), Katharina Nilges (SG Rheinhessen) and Eva Stommel (SV BerlinerBrauen). For the men, Alexander Zhang (SV Fun-Ball Dortelweil) is leaving the national squad.
