The finals of the Hai Yen Badminton Tournament 2025 will take place over three days, from January 16 to 18, at TheB Badminton Court (Ho Chi Minh City). This is one of the largest, most professional and best organized amateur badminton tournaments in existence today, and it officially opened on the morning of January 17th.
The 2025 finals will have a total prize pool of more than VND400 million, with Nguyen Quang Kieu Khuyen as the chief referee. The event also attracted many top national professional tennis players such as Pham Hong Nam, Dinh Phuong Hong, Luong Tuan Huy, Nguyen Xuan Manh, Vu Thi Chinh… as well as influencers, TikTokers and outstanding amateur athletes from different age groups.
Following the success of previous seasons, this year’s final brought together more than 800 athletes from 90 clubs across the province and beyond, with over 1,000 registered participants. This impressive size once again confirms the appeal of the Hai Yen Badminton Tournament to the amateur badminton community, not only in southern Thailand, but throughout Japan.
The tournament brought together 800 athletes, including many national professional tennis players.
The tournament is organized annually with three qualifying rounds and one final. To qualify for the finals, athletes must achieve a minimum of 1360 points through the qualifying rounds in 2025, based on the rankings drawn up by the organizing committee. This approach contributes to professional quality and provides motivation throughout the season.
A notable highlight is the increased use of technology in the organization of the tournament. From 2026, the tournament will implement a standardized and modernized roadmap, in collaboration with professional teams, to optimize the draw, group division, scheduling and real-time updates of results. The digitalization of data will not only increase transparency and accuracy in tournament management, but also provide a basis for statistical analysis and assessment of the level of athletes, with the aim of the sustainable development of badminton.

The tournament was also organized with the aim of promoting sports training, connecting potential amateur athletes and developing their talents, and creating a healthy, large-scale and professional playing field for the badminton enthusiasts.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Bao Tri, Head of the Organizing Committee, shared his thoughts on the tournament: “We hope that this tournament will not only be an ordinary competition, but also provide a platform for making connections, igniting passion and contributing to building an increasingly professional and sustainable amateur badminton community in Vietnam.”
