Zulte Waregem Goal: Jupiler Pro League Surprise Team

Zulte Waregem is one of the good surprises of the season and owes it in large part to Jeppe Erenbjerg. The Dane was until recently the championship’s top scorer.

Jeppe Erenbjerg (25 years old) is one of the sensations of the D1A this season. While he plays for one of the promoted players, the Dane has long been at the top of the Jupiler Pro League scorers’ rankings with 7 goals, to which he adds three assists.

But on the Zulte Waregem side, we knew that a solution had to be quickly found regarding him, because Erenbjerg was coming to the end of his contract next June. An agreement was about to be reached, he told himself, and it is now done.

Zulte Waregem announced the good news on Christmas Eve, as a gift for its supporters: Jeppe Erenbjerg extends his contract at Gaverbeek until 2029.

Jeppe Erenbjerg arrived in Flanders in the summer of 2024 from Danish club Boldklubben AF 1893. Last year, he scored six goals and provided five assists in the Challenger Pro League, actively participating in Zulte’s rise to D1A.

“From January 1, 2026, Jeppe will wear number 10 at Essevee,” we can also read on the Zulte Waregem website. He will thus follow in the footsteps of players like ThĂ©o Bongonda, Thorgan Hazard and Franck Berrier.

“Jeppe has made incredible progress over the past year,” said Niels Leroy in the club’s official press release. “We are confident that he will continue to progress in the months and years to come and we are delighted that he will do so under our jersey.”

“I feel extremely good here. Of course it is the performance on the pitch that counts, but for that a warm and quality environment is essential,” Erenbjerg also says with great enthusiasm in the press release on the club website.
