Zaki Noubir didn’t wait for anyone. Without noise, without shortcuts, he left alone with his dream as his only compass. At 36 years old, this coach is now in the heyday of FC Istres, 6th in his National 2 group and involved in the 32nd finals of the Coupe de France against Mérignac (R1). A jack of all trades and curious, this native of Marseille went through Vivaux Marroniers Sports, FC Rouguières, or even OM pre-training for four years, before joining Nîmes and bringing Air Bel up to the U17 Nationals with Mohamed Simakan under his command. Young in years but rich in experience, he also worked as an assistant at Rousset and Hyères, with whom he also experienced a 32nd final of the Coupe de France against OM. Navigating between different roles was a way for him to broaden his bearings and sharpen his understanding of the role of number 1, which he now makes his own (he even has a video analyst diploma).

Admirer of the tactical sense of an Allegri, the hard work of a Bielsa, and the self-confidence of a Mourinho, he is also characterized this season as a coach capable of relying on youth, embodied by Zaïd Amir, who has just been called up to play the CAN with the Comoros after passing through the UNFP box this summer following his departure from Le Mans (his goalkeeper Ben Salim Boina will also play the CAN). But Noubir is not the type to take credit from others: he believes he has only made tools available to his player, who is fully confident this season. The fact remains that today he is the true architect of this collective, a cocktail of youth and experience of which Foued Kadir, 42 years old, is the face (the average age of the group is 22/23 years old). Coming from the bottom of football, Noubir sets no limits for the rest of his career, except to continue with what has made his reputation for twenty years: beautiful play for the benefit of the result.
