The draw for the round of 16 of the Youth League has delivered its verdict. Three French clubs, Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco and Olympique de Marseille, were affected by this draw carried out at the end of the league phase where 22 teams were qualified. The last 10 reached it via the “champions route” after three qualifying rounds.
22nd and last qualifier in the league phase thanks to Juventus’ misstep against Pafos in the last match, Olympique de Marseille will face a big player: Real Madrid. It will be a reunion since the two teams faced each other during the first phase of the competition. The Marseille Minots lost in Spain (2-3).
Paris Saint-Germain, 13th in the league phase, will face Dinamo Minsk, who went through the champions route. The Belarusians eliminated the Kazakhstanis of Chimkent, the Bulgarians of Ludogorets Razgrad and the Georgians of Dinamo Tbilisi to reach the round of 16, which they will play at home.
Finally, AS Monaco will meet on the pitch of the Belgians Club Bruges. Bruges finished the league stage in 3rd place with five wins and just one defeat. The task therefore promises to be difficult for the Monegasques, who despite everything finished strong with three consecutive successes.
