However, the 34-year-old player from Valle del Cauca has not yet received any proposal from Junior to renew the contract that expires on December 31.
“That is what I want, my desire, the issue has not yet been discussed, I hope an agreement can be reached,” said Chará, to Vbar Caracol, about his continuity in the Barranquilla team.
“I am waiting for what proposal the club has because they have not informed us anything yet. We are waiting, it is the desire, my employer continues working on other possibilities if it does not happen that I stay in Junior,” added the footballer.

Regarding possibilities in other Colombian soccer teams, Chará acknowledged having had contacts with America and Cali, but he insisted that his priority is Junior.
“Junior, because of what was achieved, because of the issue of the Copa Libertadores, would be the priority, but I am waiting for what the club informs me of. With that uncertainty my businessman is working on other options, he has not stood still, we hope it is what God wants.”
Chará acknowledged having offers of Mexico (Tijuana and León), Brazil and Uruguay, but he assured that he would like to continue playing in Colombia.
The player set a deadline to reach an agreement with Junior.
“The days of waiting are ending, it is my future and they are getting shorter and shorter. It would be January 1 or 2, when almost all the teams start working,” he concluded.
