Yankees Re-Sign Paul Blackburn: 1-Year, $2M Deal

The right-handed reliever will have $2 million guaranteed and up to $500,000 in incentives for innings pitched

A source confirmed to ESPN on Saturday that the right-handed reliever Paul Blackburn will remain with New York Yankees after agreeing to a one-year, $2 million contract.

The deal includes $2 million guaranteed, plus up to an additional $500,000 in incentives for innings pitched.

Blackburn, 32, joined the Yankees in August, a week after being released by the New York Mets, team with which he went 0-3 with a 6.85 ERA in 23.2 innings. With the Yankees he made eight appearances, recording an ERA of 5.28 in 15.1 innings.

Since his debut with the Athletics in 2017, Blackburn is 22-31 with a 4.97 ERA in 101 games (86 as a starter). His only All-Star selection came in 2022, when he went 7-6 with a 4.28 ERA in 21 games with Oakland.

MLB Network was the first to report Blackburn’s deal with the Yankees.
