Xàtiva Badminton: 4 Golds at Toledo Senior Master – 2023 Results

The Xàtiva Badminton Club closed the year with an outstanding result in the Senior Master held in Toledo, where the people from Setaba achieved four golds and had an outstanding performance in an event that brought together 196 athletes from all over the country.

Julio Martí and Mª José Mompó became the great protagonists by winning two golds each. The couple won in B2 mixed doubles, also reaching number one in the national ranking in this category. Mompó added a second gold in B2 women’s doubles with Inmaculada Aguilar, without giving up a single set.

In C1 men’s doubles, Julio Martí and Gary Clark completed a brilliant competition, reaching the final after an intense semi-final match decided in the third set. In the final they won 21-18 and 21-16, thus achieving another gold for the Setabe expedition.

Daniel Meseguer also participated in the B1 category, both in singles and doubles, although on this occasion he could not make it past the group stage.

Sports agenda

This Saturday, December 13, Xàtiva will host the first Benjamin provincial day of the Jocs Esportius of the Valencian Community. The meeting will be held in the Francisco Ballester Municipal Pavilion starting at 9:00 a.m., with the participation of young athletes from all over the province and representation of the Xàtiva Badminton Club.

That same day, the player from Sebastián Irene Orquín will compete in Aragón in the Top TTR Sub-11, Sub-13, Sub-15 and Sub-17, where she will compete in the women’s singles and women’s doubles events alongside Ariadna Fabra.
