World Cup: Slalom & Speed Schedule 2024

The World Cup in women’s downhill skiing continues in the French resorts of Courchevel and Val d’Isere.

A night slalom is on the program on Tuesday, and over the weekend female skiers will compete in the downhill and super-G speed disciplines.

In the ongoing season, three slaloms were held and all three had the same winner. Plus, Mikaela Shiffrin wins by a class margin. In any case, she had a lead of more than one second in the sum of the two laps.

The American looks like she was in her best years when she won the slalom with a difference of almost two seconds.

“I see parallels in her driving with her dominant seasons in slalom. Her skis are straight, without unnecessary coming in. The phasing of the curves is clean, she is absolutely aligned at the beginning of them,” the Eurosport commentator praised her.

The skiers started the season only last weekend – and a big surprise was born right away. Forty-one-year-old Lindsey Vonn triumphed in the first downhill of the season with almost a second lead.

The experienced American finished a day later on the podium again and took fourth place in the super-G.

“I have to say thank you to all the people who didn’t believe me, because it gives me motivation. I’m surprised they didn’t realize it until now,” Vonn said.

A demanding program awaits the men. First, they will present themselves in speed disciplines in Val Gardena, from where they will move to Alta Badia, where the pre-Christmas giant slalom and slalom await them.
