World Cup Host Countries: A Complete List

The history of the Soccer World Cups spans almost a century. Since the first edition organized in Uruguay in 1930, 22 World Cups (including Qatar 2022) have been held on 4 continents with more than 900 matches played. We review all editions of the FIFA World Cup.

Since its inception, this championship has been held every 4 years. Only 2 editions have been cancelled: 1942 and 1946 due to World War II.
