West Ham Relegation: Stadium Future in Doubt?

Adding to the doom and gloom around the London Stadium, West Ham fans continue to protest against owner David Sullivan and the hierarchy in general, feeling that the club has suffered from a poor signing following their 2023 Conference League victory.

With questions continuing to arise over whether West Ham have the tools at their disposal to avoid suffering relegation to the Championship at the end of the season, they have now been told they should be forced to leave the London Stadium if they fail to do so.

Speaking alongside former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant, former Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham player O’Hara said in talkSPORT: “What’s happening at West Ham? They’re terrible.”

And when Pennant pointed out that the London Stadium, with a capacity of 62,500, would be the largest stadium in the Championship – if West Ham are relegated to the second division – O’Hara added: “I think if they get relegated they shouldn’t be allowed to keep that stadium.

“They would have to vacate, share with Leyton Orient or something like that. It’s unacceptable to have the Olympic Stadium in the Championship. It’s unacceptable.

“This place is used to seeing winners, gold medalists, and they are going to have Championship football. It is unacceptable. They should vacate. West Ham have absolutely collapsed. I am not convinced [de que puedan salir de los tres últimos]”I think they are doomed.”

Also fearing for West Ham’s safety this season, Pennant added: “You just have to look at the teams around them. Nottingham Forest, they are going to be solid. Their home advantage will keep them in the league. Leeds too.”
