The first provisional results of the fan vote for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game place Victor Wembanyama in an excellent position to land a starting spot. The French pivot of the San Antonio Spurs currently occupies fifth position in the Western Conference with 769,392 votes collected, according to figures revealed this Monday evening by the NBA.

A promising fifth place in a tough Western conference
In a particularly competitive Western Conference, Victor Wembanyama ranks behind four proven superstars. Luka Dončić largely dominates the votes with 1,249,518 votes, followed by Nikola Jokić (1,128,962 votes) and Stephen Curry (1,031,455 votes). The Frenchman is nevertheless ahead of Anthony Edwards (650,085 votes) and maintains a comfortable lead over his pursuers.
This fifth position could be synonymous with the honorary status of incumbent if it remains until the end of the voting process. As a reminder, the selection of All-Star players is based on three criteria: fan votes count for 50%, while the opinion of NBA players and that of a panel of journalists each represent 25% of the final decision.
An All-Star Game in a renewed format planned for February
The 2025 All-Star Game will take place on February 15 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and will offer a new format. This edition will see two selections of players from the United States compete against a selection “from the rest of the world”, which promises to be particularly strong with several international talents in the current top 10.
In the East, Giannis Antetokounmpo leads the way with 1,192,296 votes, ahead of Tyrese Maxey (1,072,449) and Jalen Brunson (1,040,601). The voting process, open since December 17, will continue until January 14. A next progress update will be communicated on January 6, allowing trends to be refined before the final selection.
For Victor Wembanyama, this favorable position constitutes excellent news in his quest for a second consecutive selection to the All-Star Game, confirming his growing status in the league.
