Villingen Judo: 75 Years of Strength & Tradition | Villingen-Schwenningen

Numerous guests found their way to the Martin Luther Hall of the Protestant community center, including active and former judoka, club members from various generations as well as friends from neighboring and friendly clubs.

Chairman Christian Riegauf was visibly pleased with the good response. There was a varied program: In addition to video messages from the President of the Baden Judo Association, Markus Eisenmann, and Mayor Jürgen Roth, who himself stood on the mats of the JSV Villingens 50 years ago, a guest speech from district chairman Torsten König also enriched the official part.

Roth said that JSV Villingen not only stands for sporting performance, but also for values that go far beyond sport, such as discipline, fairness and community. Markus Eisenmann highlighted some athletes who come from Villingen because they drew attention to themselves through their sporting achievements. He thanked the JSV for repeatedly organizing championships for the Baden Judo Association and for the commitment of the coaches and referees.

The anniversary commemorative publication was also distributed that evening. To loosen things up, a judo demonstration with slow motion and an impressive black light parkour performance took place throughout the evening, which kept the audience well entertained between the performances.

At the end, the JSV took the opportunity to thank its coaches, officials and referees with a small thank you for their great commitment.

The club’s young people brought the event to an atmospheric conclusion, treating the festival community to cocktails they had mixed themselves.
