Unicaja Foundation has formalized its support for the Ciudad de Vera Basketball Club during the 2025/2026 season, thus reinforcing its commitment to promoting sport as a tool for social, educational and healthy development in Andalusia. Through this sponsorship, the Foundation supports the sports and training work of the Veratense club, which currently plays in grassroots categories of Andalusian basketball and has seven teams, in which more than 100 young athletes participate, actively contributing to the promotion of grassroots basketball and the consolidation of a solid sports structure in the municipality.

The head of Sports, Free Time, Environment and Volunteering at Fundación Unicaja, Manuel Dorado, visited the club’s facilities in the Blas Infante Pavilion, accompanied by the patron Pedro Fernández Céspedes and the president of the Ciudad de Vera Basketball Club, Diego Rodríguez. During the meeting, the work carried out by the entity was highlighted both in basic sports training and in the transmission of values ​​such as effort, coexistence and teamwork.

The Ciudad de Vera Basketball Club develops a sports project that is committed to the youth system, the continuity of its teams and the integration of sport into the social life of the municipality, becoming a local and regional reference within Almería basketball.

The Unicaja Foundation’s support for Andalusian sport extends to thirty disciplines, including basketball, athletics, water polo, handball, badminton, chess, rugby, soccer, indoor soccer and rhythmic gymnastics, supporting clubs, athletes and projects that generate a positive impact on their environment.
