LUCCA – The second edition of the Under 15 contest promoted by the Friends of Basketball Lucca – Luca Del Bono Onlus kicks off this weekend, an initiative designed to enhance the young athletes of the province and spread a sporting culture based on technical skills, fair play and human qualities.
After the success of the first edition, which concluded with the awards ceremony at Palatagliate during the Lovari Trophy, from Saturday 13 December it will be possible to vote for the competing players. The contest will continue for the entire duration of the championships.
Not only baskets and rebounds will be evaluated, but also team spirit, positive leadership, respect for opponents and referees and personal commitment. Like last year, the top three in the men’s and women’s Under 15 categories will be rewarded.
The prize consists of a reimbursement for a summer basketball camp or sports materials: 500 euros for the winners, 300 euros for the second place and 200 euro for the third place.
In the men’s competition, BC Lucca, Ludec Porcari, Nba Altopascio, Lucca Sky Walkers, Versilia Basket 2002 and Cefa Castelnuovo are participating; in the women’s BF Porcari and Nba Altopascio.
To vote online, simply register on www.amicidellapallacanestrolucca.it and access the “Under 15 Contest” section: each user can cast one vote per weekend. The votes of the coaches will also be added to the final score, weighted according to a technical coefficient.
