Udinese-Lazio: 1-1 Draw – Solet & Davis Own Goals

Sarri’s team took the lead in the second half with a shot from Vecino deflected by Solet, then the Juventus forcing at the end and the disputed equaliser.

It ends 1-1 between Udinese and Lazio and rightly so. Udinese deservedly equalised, in the 95th minute in the last attack with a feat by Keinan Davis, the man who had saved them from Serie B in Frosinone, today gave them a fair point because in a match with low tempo and constant balance, Lazio had taken the lead with 10′ from the end with an own goal from Solet following a shot from Vecino. The point is good for both even if Udinese built a little more, but Lazio risked doubling their lead with Isaksen stopped well by Padelli. Runjaic and Sarri, who awaits the transfer market, must be satisfied.

first half

For both teams the most important man is missing due to injury: Atta at Udinese, Guendouzi at Lazio, more penalized by the absences (Rovella, Dia and Dele-Bashiru). The surprise comes from Kosta Runjaic who puts the forty-year-old Daniele Padelli in goal in place of the suspended Maduka Okoye. On the lanes, however, confirmation for Nicolò Bertola who wins the run-off with Hassane Kamara. Maurizio Sarri confirms the predictions. With the three midfielders who can be recruited: Belahyane, Cataldi and Vecino. In front together with Cancellieri and the returning Zaccagni is Tijani Noslin and not Tati Castellanos who is looking for a transfer. We start out in total balance. Noslin breaks it at 8, but his shot ends up outside. Udinese tries to play the game, but lacks conclusions. The match is broken up by decisive fouls which Colombo penalizes by drawing more yellow cards. Zaniolo inaugurates the series and ends up on a warning, then Cataldi. Zaniolo is bombarded by the chants of the Lazio fans (more than two thousand) who see the derby atmosphere again, but in the 20th minute he does the best thing: a great left foot and Provedel saves himself in the corner. The Bianconeri’s other conclusions are off, but they certainly have more opportunities because Belahyane and Gila concede too much. Shortly after the half hour it’s also yellow for Cancellieri who is watched closely by Solet, while Zaccagni is first tackled by Zaniolo and then Kristensen. Lazio earns a couple of useful corner kicks, but Padelli doesn’t take any risks until the 47th minute on a start by Noslin which only yields the last corner.

the recovery

We start again without changes. But with a few too many protests from the home Bianconeri. And so Kabasele receives the yellow card after a dangerous shot by Cancellieri that leaves Bertola behind. A low-paced match that ignited before the 30th minute when Runjaic had to replace the injured Bertola with Kamara. Udinese puts more pressure on and gains something on the left. In the 27th minute, a contact from Gila leaves doubts: hand or knee. The check from Lissone says no penalty. Colombo, not flawless this time, is overwhelmed by boos. On the next play Provedel rejects Davis’ conclusion. And Sarri sends Castellanos onto the field anyway. In place of Noslin. Everything always seems to be in balance when in the 35th minute a good move by Cancellieri frees Vecino who shoots. The decisive deflection is from Solet: Lazio takes the lead. Isaksen replaces Cancellieri. Udinese tries to equalize it. Lazio tries to keep it under control with the dribble. In the 39th minute Zaniolo’s free kick was blocked by Provedel. Runjaic tries everything: Buksa, Miller and Palma inside for the final assault. Which rewards Udinese with the last action. Zaccagni loses an unfortunate ball, the Bianconeri restart with Zaniolo and Davis who plays one-on-one and beats Provedel. 1-1. But there is still a warning from Lissone for a possible hand by the English attacker shortly before the conclusion. Check. Valid goal, amid protests from Lazio, and a draw.

the challenge

Udinese has just returned from the collapse in Florence while Lazio has returned from the uninspiring draw with Cremonese at the Olimpico. Sarri recovers Zaccagni, disqualified against Cremonese, but loses not only Basic (still punished) but also Guendouzi
