U11 Badminton Player Competes with U19s – BadmintonBladet

Togetherness, relationships, health and exercise.

On Wednesday morning at 09.30 this “young U11” was invited to padel and Christmas lunch among the “U19s”, in Bødskov’s padel center in Højbjerg.

Old badminton players from my eldest sister’s year, primarily from Viby Badminton Club, meet weekly for padel, which this time was spiced up with Christmas lunch, songs and horse racing!

I know many of them – Just, Karlsson, Berg, Juul, Vingløv…..and many more. Have read about them in the old Badminton magazine from the association back in the 80s.

This is what sport and associational life can also do. Often provide long-lasting and with age increasingly important communities, friendships. They keep going, helped by the social. Has both present and past to talk about.

So here I was sitting as the U11 at the seniors’ table after two hours of padel, which is not my top skill at all….but it went, sort of.

My ankles and knees were sore. The surface was somewhat harder than the traditional badminton floor.

My fluid balance after the badminton game on Tuesday evening in Brabrand with my youngest son had not been restored at all, and on top of that there was also a night on a thin mattress in his dorm room. There was absolutely no control over the optimization!

But no matter how well I might have been prepared, my brother-in-law was just way better…..and faster. Satan’s too😂😘
