Tykač Rejects Trpišovský: FAČR Proposal Scrapped

The owner of Slavia Pavel Tykač fully explained why he swept off the table the proposal that his club’s coach Jindřich Trpišovský temporarily lead the Czech national team. In an interview with Kudy jažić, he described the whole idea as unsystematic, illogical and basically unfeasible.

According to Tykač, it does not make sense for a coach to combine two functions in the most critical period of the season – whether the national team succeeds in the play-off or not. “Either they won’t advance to the World Cup and the coach or the players will be blamed, or they will advance, and then I can’t imagine that the coach would go to America while preparations for the new season were underway in Prague. Who would lead Slavia? Would they be left without coaches at all?” he asked rhetorically.

And then he indiscriminately joined the union, which solves the burning situation. Among other things, it bothers him that the weight of the situation falls on Slavia. The union and the wider football public latched onto this as a salvation. But a successful entrepreneur doesn’t want it to be like that. That is why he adopted the above-mentioned rejecting attitude.

“I find it completely ridiculous. There are dozens of countries in Europe, hundreds of national teams in the world, and they all have one coach with a concept,” developed the idea. “We would play the qualifiers with one, playoff with the other and look for a third for the championship. That makes no sense to me,” he shook his head.

According to him, the association lacks long-term financial planning and clear answers to what the national team coach would actually be paid from. I wonder why other countries have a coach and we don’t. I lack answers to the questions of how the union is run and why it gets into such situations,” he continued to ask.

In the end, he admitted that he had no problem helping in other ways. “If we have to settle for a coach, I will contribute. When Jarda Tvrdík says to contribute, I will contribute.” confirmed.
