More than 1,400 prospects were identified through the Sports Initiation Schools
As part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen high sports performance in Tlaxcala, the State Government, through the Tlaxcala Sports Institute (IDET), promotes early support for sports talents through Sports Initiation Schools, a model aimed at consolidating solid and sustained training processes.
These actions seek to ensure that Tlaxcalan athletes have adequate support before, during and after the competitive process, in order to comprehensively prepare them to represent the entity in national and international competitions.
During 2025, the IDET managed to detect 1,415 sports prospects, as a result of carrying out massive events, specialized evaluations and the application of physical and technical tests, tools that allow identifying profiles with the potential to integrate into the state selection processes and high performance.
Sports Initiation Schools are designed to develop talents from an early age, through systematized teaching methods, physical and technical preparation, as well as the support of specialized personnel, which strengthens sports capabilities and reduces gaps in the training process.
Currently, the IDET offers training schools in disciplines such as judo, associated wrestling, table tennis, baseball 5, badminton and breaking in Pavilion A, as well as track and field athletics in the “A New History” Athletic Track of the High Performance Sports City, located in Apizaco.
The implementation of these detection and evaluation schemes allows the development of each athlete to be precisely guided, optimizing their preparation and channeling them towards disciplines in accordance with their abilities, with the aim of strengthening the competitive performance of the state.
With this systematic support for sports talents, the State Government and the IDET reaffirm their commitment to consolidate a solid high-performance structure and position Tlaxcala as a national benchmark in sports development. (Bulletin)
