Patrioti Levice basketball players won in Tuesday’s preliminary game of the 18th round of Tipos SBL over BC Prievidza 88:85 after overtime.
In the highest Slovak competition, they recorded their third triumph in a row and continue to be sovereign at the top of the table. Prievidza remained on the fourth place.
The Lions led almost the whole time in the pre-Christmas game, but the visiting players dramatized the match in the final quarter.
At the sound of the horn, James Bishop flashed a three-pointer and sent the duel into overtime. In it, the people of Prieve had a six-point lead, but in the end the triumph was turned over to their side by the defenders of the championship trophy.
The players of BKM Mimel Lučenec ended a three-game losing streak, triumphing over the Košice Wolves 84:77 in the playoffs of the 7th round.
In the table them belongs to the seventh position, Košice are last with only one victory and 13 losses.
