Timo Becker is an absolute fan favorite at FC Schalke 04. However, one thing really annoys the 28-year-old among the fans.

Gelsenkirchen – Timo Becker celebrated his long-awaited comeback in Schalke 04’s 1-0 win against 1. FC Nürnberg last weekend. The defender worked hard for eleven weeks. He always stayed close to the team and close to the club.

Schalke star Timo Becker annoyed because of S04 fans: “It’s gotten bad”

Every now and then there were pictures that showed Timo Becker training despite the splint. The crowd favorite was even spotted in the Schalke Nordkurve. For the player himself, this is a given, as he revealed to RUHR24 in a media round on Wednesday (December 17th).

“I’m just a guy, I also go here to celebrate with the fans after victories. That’s where my friends are, that’s where all my people are and I’m a fan at the same time and I just want to live that out. Why should I hide? Just because I’m a player, I can still be a fan,” explained Timo Becker.

Afterwards, he also showed understanding for the players who wouldn’t live out their fan status in the same way, “because I think they’re also afraid of being talked to in the crowd all the time.” The defense attorney further noted: “It’s also gotten bad, I actually have to say.”

Schalke star Timo Becker: “I just have so much fun supporting this club”

What does he mean by that? “It often annoys me after games that you can’t just celebrate victories calmly here, but that everyone comes: ‘Can I take a picture, can I take a picture, can I take a picture?’ At some point it should be enough because I think we can simply celebrate the success we have together,” said Timo Becker.

At the end there were conciliatory words from the S04 leader: “I would rather have someone drunkenly hug me and say, great game, than someone always asking, yes, can we have a picture. That’s why I go to the corner with the boys, because all my friends are there and it’s just unbelievably fun for me to support this club.”
