The marriage of the star sports couple is definitely coming to an end. Former tennis player Ana Ivanovic has filed for divorce from former famous soccer player Bastian Schweinsteiger.
According to the most widely read German newspaper Bild, 38-year-old Ivanovich filed for divorce in November at a Munich court.
Already in July, Christian Schertz, the legal representative of the former Serbian tennis player, confirmed that the couple broke up due to “irreconcilable differences”.
A month earlier, Schweinsteiger was caught kissing another girl who is believed to be his new girlfriend. According to German media, his name is Silva and he comes from Bulgaria.
According to Bild, the affair between the former midfielder of Bayern Munich and Manchester United began already in the summer of last year.
Bunte magazine came up with the fact that the Roland Garros Grand Slam winner and Australian Open finalist from 2008 was willing to forgive Schweinsteiger, three years older, and give him a new chance, but the 2014 world champion already wanted to live “more freely”.
Their last public appearance together was last September at the tennis Laver Cup in Berlin. Three months later, they still shared a joint photo from the Christmas markets on Instagram.
The former WTA world number one Ivanovic, considered the sexiest tennis player in her time, and the eight-time German champion have been dating since the fall of 2014, and two years later they got married in Venice.
They have three sons together: Luka, Leon and Teo. They live with their mother in Mallorca.
