The International Agency for Tennis Integrity (ITIA) has banned the French player for 20 years. The 26-year-old was identified after a comprehensive investigation as a “central figure” in a criminal network that specializes in manipulated matches.
In addition to the suspension, Folliot must pay a $70,000 fine and repay approximately $44,600 in ill-gotten gains.
Folliot, who achieved his best ATP ranking of 488th in August 2022, was found guilty of 27 counts. The allegations range from intentional match-fixing and attempted bribery to destroying evidence and refusing to cooperate with investigators. The latter is considered particularly serious and led to a drastic increase in punishment.
Folliot is the sixth player to be sanctioned as part of a major investigation.
