Tennis Cheating Scandal: 20-Year Ban

Quentin Folliot has been identified as a “central figure” in a criminal network following a comprehensive investigation.

The International Agency for Integrity in Tennis (ITIA) has banned French player Quentin Folliot for 20 years.

The 26-year-old was identified after a comprehensive investigation as a “central figure” in a criminal network specializing in manipulated matches.

In addition to the suspension, Folliot must pay a $70,000 fine and repay approximately $44,600 in ill-gotten gains.

Tennis professional found guilty on 27 counts

Folliot, who achieved his best ATP ranking of 488th in August 2022, was found guilty of 27 counts. The allegations range from intentional match-fixing and attempted bribery to destroying evidence and refusing to cooperate with investigators.

The latter is considered particularly serious and led to a drastic increase in punishment.

Folliot is the sixth player to be sanctioned as part of a major investigation.
