Although they were eliminated in the round of 16 of the Provincial League A, El Tala does not give up and keeps alive the dream of playing in the 2026 Federal League, the third category of Argentine basketball.
Although the Province has six places to directly access the competition organized by the Argentine Basketball Confederation, it would be a fact that 9 de Julio de Morteros does not participate, which is why a place is opened that is granted in order of merit.
The San Francisco club is optimistic: it trusts that it can receive the news, but it also knows that there are teams better placed in the final classification that have priority. Banda Norte de Río Cuarto is one of them, those from the “Empire of the South” received the notification and are awaiting the response, Almafuerte de Las Varillas and Racing de Córdoba are also on that list.
The five confirmed so far are El Ceibo, Unión de Oncativo, Sparta and Unión Central de Villa María, plus Matienzo de Córdoba.
Support for your institutional growth
The enthusiasm of El Tala does not respond solely to sporting desire. The club sustains its aspiration in a growth process that has been consolidating: it returned to a national competition in 2025, after 30 years without participation.

While the province defines how that possible remaining place will be assigned, El Tala is working behind closed doors to make it clear that it is prepared to compete. The objective is clear: to be back on the national scene in 2026 and sustain the growth it has shown in recent years.
