After three days of rest, blue and yellow showed a fine form when they quickly took command in the World Cup quarter-final against Latvia. The final numbers 16-3 spoke volumes and the blue and yellow are now ready for the WC semi-final.
– It is not an easy match. Latvia is a good team and as I said it’s not an easy match, it’s nice that we can score a lot of goals, says Ellen Lundin after the final whistle.
Lundin scored three goals during the match and was praised by the organizer as player of the match. A prize she appreciates, even if the main focus is on the win itself.
– It’s great fun, of course. Then the most important thing is that the team wins, but great fun.
During the days off, Sweden has focused on polishing details and coming into the playoffs as well prepared as possible. But playing three days and then resting for three has been a bit of an odd schedule, says Lundin.
– It has been a bit strange to play three matches and then rest for three days and now there are three matches again. But we have had two training sessions and there has also been a lot of massage, so it feels good.
In the semi-finals Switzerland awaits for blue and yellow. An opposition where Lundin highlights the speed in the players.
– A very fast team, runs a lot and works hard all over the track. It becomes important for us to be disciplined in what we do.
What will you take from here into the semi-finals tomorrow?
– I think we are doing very good things out there. So we take it with us that we are a very good team.
