State Archery Championships: Olympic Dreams in Morelos

More­los.- With the participation of more than 40 archers, the State Short Distance Archery Championship was held, organized by the state association of the discipline, with the aim of adding points to the ranking towards the eliminatory process of the Conade 2026 National Olympiad.

The competitions took place over two days at the Chamilpa sports unit, in Cuernavaca. On the first day, the qualifying phase was held to define positions in the state ranking, while the second included the round robin modality and the team competition, in which 13 Christmas-themed teams participated.

In the individual results of the round robin, the winners were Johan Rubén (novices), Óscar Ocampo (intermediate recurve), Charlot Méndez (intermediate compound), Regina Valdez (elite compound), Edgar Bahena (advanced recurve) and Wilfrido Romero (advanced compound), in addition to the participation of the national team Máximo Méndez.

In the team competition, Flechas de Santa, made up of Regina Valdez, Octavio García and Victoria Uribe, won the gold medal; Renos sin Mira took the silver and Copos al Centro took the bronze.
