The curtain of the Alfieri Theater in Asti is about to rise on one of the most awaited evenings for the entire local sports movement. On Monday 8 December 2025, at 9pm, the 30th Asti Sports Festivala historic milestone for the ceremony organized by CONI in synergy with the Piedmont Region, the Province and the City of Asti. It will be a real parade of stars, led by the hosts Camilla Viotti e Ivo Anselmowith choreography curated byASD Double Jump Asti to enrich the show. At the center of the scene will be sporting excellence, world titles and merits that tell the story of a year of hard work and triumphs.

The most prestigious awards: career and revelations

The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award, which this year pays homage to the talent of Matteo Pianovolleyball icon. Next to him, the title of Athlete of the Year 2025 was awarded to Roberto Capello for cycling, while the Promising Young Woman 2025 is the Juventus Primavera footballer Matilde Morando. Significant recognition also for storytelling and art in sport: Journalist of the Year is Daniela Cotto (La Stampa), an authoritative signature of sports news and technique, while the Artist and Sports Presenter award goes to Davide Chicarella.

Among the managerial and technical figures, the Sports Manager of the Year stands out Francesco Anastasiopresident of ASD Spartak San Damiano, and Coach of the Year Marco Marchesi for table tennis. A tribute to dedication goes to Silvio Brustolingoalkeeper of ASD Asti in Serie D, awarded for “Loyalty of the Year”. The clubs are no exception: the award for Sports Club of the Year goes toASD Tigliolese Female while the Team of the Year is theASD Vallebelbo Canelli Womenfresh from the national Serie B2.

Meritorious Cones and “Sportspeople Forever”

The sporting institution recognizes merit through its highest honors. The Gold Star for sporting merit goes to Paolo Artusio Icardifollowed by the Silver Star for Giovanna Rivetti and the Bronze one for Simonetta Paola Ferrero. The Bronze Palm for technical merit is awarded to Maria Cristina Cirillo e Alessandra De Vincenzi.

International Triumphs: Asti on the roof of the world

Asti pride has crossed national borders with exceptional results. In cycling and motoring they shine Bruno Sanetti (Italian Fire Brigade Champion and 1st Gran Fondo Austria) ed Emanuele Olivieri (Vice F4 World Champion). The Modern Pentathlon confirms itself as a gold mine with multi-titled athletes: Valentina Martinescu (World Championship team gold overall); Annachiara Allara (Silver U17 World Championships, Gold U17 European Championships); Giorgia Gennaro (Bronze European U15); Chiara Secci (Bronze in European U17 teams). In hockey, Matteo Baesse he won the European Indoor U21 bronze, while in Bowls Luigi Grattapaglia it’s world silver in pairs. Skydiving sees blue Alessandro Binello bronze at the World Championships in North Carolina.

Among the Azzurri and those called up to international competitions there are also rugby players Thomas Dapavo, Matteo Gaetano, Filippo Lorenzo Gonella and the communications manager Marzia Fossa . In skating, Federico Trento is called up to the World Cup.
