Spanish Motocross Rider Dies in Training | 17-Year-Old Tragedy

The world of sport and motocross is in mourning. The young Spaniard, hope of the discipline, Enzo Badenas died this weekend. He was only 17 years old.

The information was revealed by the Specialized Center for Motor Sports Technology (CETDM) located at the Ricardo Tormo circuit, located in Cheste, a suburb of Valencia, where Badenas trained regularly.

The young champion was “the victim of a serious accident this Sunday, December 7, during a private training session” writes the CETDM in a press release on its website. According to the Spanish news agency EFE, the accident occurred at the Red Sand Park circuit in Vilafamés, in the province of Castellón.

A progress welcomed by all

Born in Gandia in January 2008, Badenas joined CETDM in 2023 after achieving several successes, including the 85cc Spanish champion title the previous season. Since then, his “remarkable personal and professional progress” has been praised by all.

“Selected for the Spanish national motocross team, he also participated in regional, national and international championships, such as the European Championship,” the press release continued.

“The entire staff of the CETDM and the Circuit sends its most sincere condolences to the family, colleagues, friends and loved ones of Enzo, and shows them all its affection and support in these difficult times,” concluded the press release.

Since the announcement of his disappearance, messages of support and tribute have followed one another on social networks.
