Skater Elisa Dul was seriously injured shortly before the Olympic qualifying tournament. During a training race in Thialf, she had a hard fall on the 500 meters entering the first bend and broke her tibia and fibula.

“After 100 meters, I think my point hit the ice,” says Dul at skaten.nl about the moment. “I made a turn and ended up with both legs in the boarding. I quickly realized that something was wrong.”
