Sinaloa: 3 Suspects Detained, Weapons Seized in Weekend Operation

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The Security Cabinet of the Government of Mexico announced the results obtained during the implementation of Operation Northern Border, carried out on December 19, 20 and 21, 2025, in different parts of the state of Sinaloa, with coordinated actions between federal and state forces.

In Culiacán, specifically in the Las Torres neighborhood, elements of the Mexican Army, while carrying out security and surveillance tours, detained a person, from whom they seized a long weapon, 30 useful cartridges and a truck.

In another action also in the state capital, elements of the Mexican Army and the State Preventive Police seized three long weapons, a short weapon, a grenade launcher attachment, a grenade, 14 magazines, 320 cartridges, as well as tactical equipment and a vehicle.

For their part, in Mazatlán, elements of the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, detained two people, from whom a long weapon, a short weapon, two magazines, 51 useful cartridges, as well as a bag with marijuana, a communication radio and a vehicle were seized.

The authorities reported that these actions are part of the security strategy to inhibit criminal activities, strengthen surveillance and guarantee security in the northern region of the country.
