Simão Silva: B.C. Viseu Contract Extension to 2029

20-year-old striker arrived at the Viseense emblem in 2023

Académico de Viseu announced today the renewal of its contract with Simão Silva until the end of the 2028/29 season, this being the second renewal of a young footballer on the squad, after Gustavo Costa also extended his contract.

The 20-year-old striker, who arrived at the Viseense club in 2023, remains “one of the bets of the academic formation”, said, in a statement, the SAD of the Beirao emblem, currently third placed in the II Football League.

Trained at FC Porto, a club he represented between 2012 and 2016, Simão Silva then went through the youth ranks of Salgueiros and Boavista, before joining Académico de Viseu at the start of the 2023/24 season, joining the under-19 team.

After a season in which he was also called up to the under-23 squad, the forward made his debut for the professional team in the Portuguese Cup, last season, against Lusitano de Évora.

For the Académico de Viseu main team, Simão Silva has already played 30 official games, with one goal and two assists.

Académico de Viseu, third placed in the II League, with 26 points, is preparing to welcome Benfica B, scheduled for December 28th, at 11:00, at Estádio do Fontelo, in a game on the 16th round of the competition.
