Shiffrin Wins Courchevel Slalom: Results & Highlights

Women’s slalom – 1.+2. round:

American skier Mikaela Shiffrinová also won the fourth slalom of this World Cup season.

She thus repeated the triumph from the Finnish Levi, the Austrian Gurgl and the American Copper Mountain, and no one has beaten her in this discipline so far this year.

In the French resort of Courchevel, she beat Camille Rastová from Switzerland by 1.55 seconds, Emma Aicherová from Germany was third with a distance of 1.71 seconds.

The phenomenal American celebrated a record 105th triumph in the prestigious series, including the 68th in slalom. Overall, it was her 161st podium finish in the WC and 93rd in the slalom.

“I went all out, I didn’t want to leave anything to chance. That’s the way. After the first round, I had a promising position. Now I want to rest and regenerate,” said the winner in an interview with FIS.

Thanks to the gain of 100 points, she also consolidated her lead in the overall ranking of the World Cup, she is 164 points ahead of Alice Robinson from New Zealand. Tretia Rastová loses 215 points.

Several favorites did not finish the race, Lara Colturiová, Katharina Liensbergerová and Zrinka Ljutičová were eliminated in the first round, Lena Dürrová and Sara Hectorová were eliminated in the second round. Slovakia was not represented in the race.
