The eleventh day of Serie A basketball opens with two truly fiery advances. Pallacanestro Trieste triumphs at home after extra time 92-82, further opening the never-ending crisis of Unahotels Reggio Emilia. Another home success was that of Dolomiti Energia Trento, which beat Reyer Venezia 96-90 at the end of another match with a thrilling finish.
Trieste takes two almost totally unexpected points with 30 seconds left in the last quarter. Everything happens with Uthoff’s triple for -2, then the steal from Ramsey’s throw, who equalizes from the line. Reggio Emilia, however, still has a chance to win and Toscano-Anderson (16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists) pulls off a sensational block on Caupain (25 points for him in the end) right at the siren. In extra time the former Warriors and Jeff Brooks make the decisive attack, with Reggio Emilia no longer having the strength to react. Trieste wins 92-82 and finds two fundamental points in the Final Eight, while Reggio Emilia continues its nightmare with its eighth consecutive defeat.
A super final also between Dolomiti and Reyer. In the end Trento celebrates, coming back from -15 at the beginning of the third quarter and then managing to take a very important successwhich keeps them fully in the running for qualification for the Final Eight of the Italian Cup. Reyer’s 35-17 in the second quarter was completely overturned by another 35-17 in the third quarter for the hosts. In the last quarter Trento lost its two best players Dj Steward (19 points) and Devante’ Jones (15), but escaped with a +8. Venezia, however, comes back and gets point to point in the last possessions. A basket from Khalif Battle was decisive and then Venezia missed the equalizer three times, putting an end to the streak of six consecutive successes.
