After a very good debut season in Serie A – 30 games and 9 assists -, Nuno Tavares started 2025/26 as a starter on the left wing and being called up by Roberto Martínez for the National Team, but, after missing a few games due to physical problems, he is losing space in the squad and Luca Pellegrini stole his place in the starting eleven.
According to Calciomercato, the Portuguese international could even leave the club in this winter market and the Italians are asking for a total of 15 million euros, having paid €5M to Arsenal, which still has 40% of a future sale.
The same source also states that Al Ittihad, owned by Sérgio Conceição, is very attentive to the situation of the ex-Benfica player. The 25-year-old full-back could even be the first winter reinforcement for the Portuguese coach, who has not had an easy start to his adventure in Saudi Arabia and has been very critical of his players.
If the transfer is confirmed, the Portuguese would join two other compatriots in the Saudi squad, Danilo Pereira and Roger Fernandes. The problem is that, due to the rules regarding vacancies for foreigners in the country, the current SPL champion would have to sell one of its players to allow Nuno Tavares to arrive.
